Audion Silver Night Anniversary DUO 300B/2A3 switchable hard wired stereo is our intermediate level power amplifier, using the well known 300B tubes or switchable to 2A3. These amplifiers are hand built and point to point hard wired (Air Wired©) avoiding the use of Chinese components where possible. This triode based stereo amp uses no (zero) feedback in the design. The chassis is black powder coated aluminum as is the transformer cover. The top plate and badge are mirror finished stainless steel.

The Silver Night range of amplifiers are the best known of the Audion products, and the ones that have won most awards, notably amp of the year in Japan 2010. The SN 300B hard wired was the amp originally reviewed by Sam Tellig that put Audion's name onto the map.

Amplifier matching

This Silver Night Anniversary DUO is different from other amps in that the user can tube roll between any 300B, any 2A3 or any type 45 tube, obviously more careful choice of speaker is needed. Lloudspeakers of 89db or better efficiency for 300B mode 95 db or better for 2A3 and 98db or greater for type 45. Ideally matched with our range of Electron cables. The amps deliver 7 watts into 8 ohms from a 300B, 3.5 watts with a 2A3 and 2 watts with a Type 45. Switching is done at the rear by swapping fuse positions and the heater voltages are self sensing within the amp. Tube rolling is easy as the amp is auto biassed Upgrade options are available for this model, see upgrade options at end. Integrated option (5 Stereo inputs is available on all stereo models)
