DC iPurifier2

$ 880
Overview
Listening to music on your home system should sound perfect but chances are it doesn’t, and that’s due to hiss and distortion created by the power supply connected to your electronic device.
The DC iPurifier2 connects between the two, strips away noise and restores clear sound.
Plug Into Purity
The DCPurifier2 handles 5 volts right through to 24, and comes in the following adapter sizes:
• 5.5×2.1mm
• 5.5×2.5mm,
• 3.5×1.35mm

Making it compatible with all power supplies.

And the DC iPurifier2 has taken a step into the future with:

• Active Noise Cancellation 2 – To enhance noise reduction and bring recordings to the fore, and
• Panasonic SP-Cap Polymer Capacitors – To minimise further noise and keep the temperature of your device stable.
• Copper-alloy shielding – To block EMI and RFI noise.

A Quest For Quiet
The DC iPurifier2 leaves no stone unturned in its quest to reduce noise, buzz and jitter from your music.

Listen to what you love in complete tranquillity.

Just insert the DC iPurifier2 between the existing noisy power supply and the device you want to use – it could be anything from a DAC to a DAW (digital audio workstation) – and the noise will be reduced by a factor of 316x to 100,000x.
Whether you’re using it at home or in a pro-audio environment, this is the simplest and most effective way of improving audio performance from one of the ‘dirtiest’ sources in a computer audio system.

Active Noise Cancellation2
A cornerstone of our ever-improving iFi USB audio technology, our much-acclaimed and award-winning ANC® (Active Noise Cancellation) system is based on military radar defence technology. Specifically, it draws from the ingenious Thales Spectra system used in the French Dassault Rafale jet fighter.
ANC2® identifies noise frequencies coming from the SMPS then generates identical but opposite frequencies, which actively cancel all the incoming noise. It works brilliantly and, with the latest Active Noise Cancellation® technology, the DC iPurifier2 sharply reduces noise from five Volts all the way up to 24 Volts (3.5 amps).

Sonically, the background and inner resolution to recordings is brought to the fore and no longer hidden. The sound is warmer and smoother with individual elements more clearly defined – just as it would be on a good analogue system. Nothing else comes close.

Panasonic SP-Cap Polymer Aluminium Capacitors
with an ultra-low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and excellent noise reduction as well as stable temperature and frequency characteristics.
High-precision MELF resistors
Metal electrode leadless face resistors have excellent accuracy, stability, reliability, and pulse load capability.
Custom Operational amps
with ultra-low noise and fast speed.
New copper-alloy shielding
This excellent EMI (electromagnetic interference) shielding that isolates devices and cables to block radio frequency electromagnetic radiation.
1hz to 5ghz_logo Ultra wide-band design, effective from 1Hz to above 5GHz
The DC iPurifier2 is a ground-up, ultra-wide band design that leaves no stone unturned. Though it’s effective from 1Hz all the way up to 5GHz, the strongest performance is in the audible range of 20Hz to 20kHz.
Built-in polarity protection
A red protection LED will be lit if the input polarity is reversed (If reversed polarity, please correct).
Compatible with all power supply designs 5V-24V/3.5A/84W
The DC iPurifier2 handles 5 volts through to 24V and takes up to 3.5 Amps or 84 Watts. For different types of DC barrel connectors, the DC iPurifier2 works with 5.5 x 2.1mm but also ships with adapters for 5.5×2.5mm and 3.5×1.35mm. These three fittings cover the gamut of DC barrel connectors.
Professional audio applications typically require a ‘centre negative’ power supply. To lower noise with the DC iPurifier2, use a ‘centre positive’ power supply at the input and use a special white ‘inverter’ at the output.

AC iPurifier

$ 980
The mains power supply is the ‘gasoline’ that fuels an audio system. And, whether it is clean or contaminated, it has a material impact upon the quality/enjoyment of playback.

The AC iPurifier is the latest iFi product from the ‘power products’ stable to clean-up noisy mains supplies.

It is no ordinary mains purification product. Technologically advanced, it’s an active not a passive product so it goes above and beyond and cancels far more noise across the frequency range than other passive devices.

This chart compares the AC iPurifier (green line), which is ACTIVE, versus generic mains filters (red line) which are typically passive.

Every audio system benefits
The AC iPurifier was designed to be used in ANY mains powered audio system. It is particularly effective at dealing with modern audio systems that have an abundance of generic and varied power supplies (see next section for a more detailed, technical explanation).

Where extension blocks are used, the AC iPurifier can be used to isolate certain types of power supplies for the maximum noise reduction.

Latest purification product to benefit from ANC technology
Since developing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in-house, we have utilized it in all the relevant products from the iPower all the way up to the micro iUSB3.0.

The AC iPurifier is the latest product to have onboard ANC. As its name suggests, it ACTIVELY cancels the noise which makes it one of the power accessories, if not the only one, that actively cancels noise.

Wireless Purification System
The Wireless Purification System (WPS) is a complex circuit that reduces power line noise without audible or measured side-effects. This is important because such solutions, while attempting to curb noise, also hamper dynamics. This is not the case with the AC iPurifier.

Modular design to supress noise
With many modern audio systems, there are typically a plethora of mains plugs. All of these add their own unwanted noise issues and pollute the local mains supply.

The design of the AC iPurifier is such that it is even more effective if several are used to ‘contain’ the same type of noisy sources.

You can insert into the AC mains wall outlet that supplies the audio system OR insert into the mains extension block for the audio system. Try both locations to discover which has the greatest impact on improved sonics.

Intelligent Ground connection
There are more than a few AC clean-up devices that add an extra Ground/Earth but only the AC iPurifier has ‘Intelligent Ground’. You can buy the optional extra 4mm ground cable to give the audio system the best possible Ground/Earth but it will ONLY actively provide a Ground/Earth (if it detects the lack of one*. It will not create a ground loop).

‘Smart Polarity and Earth’ detection
When it comes to mains AC, there are two common errors which people can make when setting up a system. The first has to do with polarity and the incorrect orientation of USA and EU type mains pins.

Intelligent Polarity automatically informs you of incorrect orientation by changing to a red LED.

The second error is the a lack of a Ground/Earth.

In a system where there may or may not be a lack of a Ground/Earth, simply insert the AC iPurifier into the system and it will tell you one way or the other.

When the two LEDs (below) light up green everything is in order!

Overvoltage Surge Protection
Last but not least, for the rare instances where there is an overvoltage spike (from a mains electricity surge or lightning strike for example), the AC iPurifier will automatically shut off and stop electricity from passing through your system. This should protect your valuable and highly-sensitive mains equipment from harm.

Earbuddy

$ 180
Earbuddy

Your audio will now be richer and fuller without the irritation buzz and/or hiss you experienced before. Enjoy!

Tip:

Please note that with the Ear Buddy in-line, you are able to turn up the volume on the music source far more. In extreme cases, this may cause the internal amplifier of the music source to enter into 'clipping'. If this occurs, please reduce he source volume accordingly.

IFI
Groundhog

$ 380
When you touched your device, did the hum/buzz noise increase? Well, in most cases, this is likely to be caused by a missing Ground/Earth connection that normally shields your system from such interference and drains away the noise.

Electrical safety and EMC Legislation require certain ways of designing AC power systems. This legislation does not consider audio systems and is mandatory. It can lead to the irritating issue of hum, buzz, hiss and general interference in certain systems where:

• The system includes at least one AC mains powered device or has an AC mains charger attached and it has no Ground/Earth at all
• The audio system has at least two AC mains powered devices which leads to more than one, multiple Ground/Earth connections.

Go to our Tech Specs section to check out the simple guide to diagnosing if you have a Ground/Earth issue and to discover how the Groundhog will help.

At iFi, we know how annoying unwanted noise can be. No-one enjoys a tedious listening experience. Not even Stan our Smiley Man!

If you have identified that you have a Missing/No Earth, then the Groundhog is for you. Its sole objective is to put the Ground/Earth back into your system and banish those unwanted, audio pests. No predicting the weather with this hog!
All you need to do use a standard IEC power cable to connect the Groundhog to your audio system. The Groundhog then adds back the missing Ground/Earth connection to dissipate noise.

Our Groundhog is multi-talented as it includes a variety of connections to suit just about any audio system.
• RCA base cable – for any audio system with an unused RCA socket.
IEC (Earth pin only) to RCA (male)

• USB converter – for a computer audio system. Just connect to a spare USB port.
USB to RCA (female)

• Spade converter – for power supplies with a DC barrel connector.
DC Spade to RCA (female)

• 3.5mm Y-converter – for portable devices with an unused 3.5mm connection.

iPurifier 2
USB-A

$ 1,080
The USB audio platform is well-established, yet as with any audio transmission protocol, unwanted factors hinder the audio quality. iFi’s obsession with ‘cleaning up’ the USB audio chain drawn from the knowledge base of AMR. As early as 2012, iFi invented the first USB power regenerator – the iUSB Power. This was swiftly followed by professional USB audio cables – the Mercury and Gemini. Later came the USB audio filter – the original iPurifier. Fast-forward to 2015 and we now have the iPurifier 2.

Most effective at the end (rather than the beginning) of the ‘digital USB audio chain’ the iPurifier 2 cleans up the USB transmission. There is an iPurifier 2 perfectly suited to every DAC.

iPurifier

$ 900
The USB transmission standard was not designed for high-quality audio: audio/power/ground are all ‘lumped into one’ cable for printers, hard-disk drives and the like. In the pursuit of the highest-quality of USB audio playback, this is akin to placing dedicated audio interconnects and high-current power cables together, which is clearly far from ideal.

Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) issues inevitably arise, characterised by a harsh, edgy sound.

The iPurifier does one job and one job only; it cleans and filters audio + power at the end of the digital chain; just prior to the digital signal entering the DAC .

The specially-designed circuit restores the ‘signal waveform’ and puts the ‘analogue’ back into USB audio for a true, life-like presentation.

Future-proofed, it is able to handle high-resolution PCM/DSD and DXD at all levels. A: all DACs gain a sonic uplift.

IFI
SPDIF iPurifier

$ 1,280
From Apple TV to Google Chromecast to PS4/ Xbox to 4K Smart TVs, SPDIF is the main digital audio output .

As with all mainstream products, the critical SPDIF signal transmitted is of fairly low quality. The SPDIF iPurifier runs the SPDIF signal through 4 comprehensive stages; the result is sound quality that has greater warmth, resolution and dynamic contrast.

The SPDIF iPurifier is 'Bit-Perfect,' the signal remains original (no over/upsampling), so it is compatible with DTS, Dolby Digital and DoP signals, as well as offering full HD support up to 192KHz.

IFI
iEMatch 3.5

$ 450
The iEMatch® solves the bane of headphone listening by removing hiss and improving dynamics. As most IEMs and headphones are too loud at even half the volume level, listening enjoyment is always curtailed. No more with the iEMatch® in the signal path.

Use the iEMatch® when the headphones/in-ear monitor (IEM) is either too loud and/or there is excessive hiss from the music source. From Smartphones to airplane in-flight entertainment systems, powerful headphone amplifiers, the iEMatch® improves musical enjoyment by:

1. Background noise – significantly reduced
2. Dynamic range – more open, transparent
3. Volume control – increased usable range

The solution? Add the iEMatch® in-between the headphone and the amplifier. Set to high or ultra-sensitivity, sit back and enjoy the music.

IFI
iEMatch 2.5

$ 580
Why iEMatch2.5®?
Following the success of our original iEMatch®, which improves sound quality and dynamics for headphone users listening to music sourced from their smartphones, tablets or laptops, iFi is proud to announce the arrival of iEMatch2.5 for those with dedicated hi-res digital audio players (DAPs).

Like the iEMatch®, the iEMatch2.5 significantly reduces background noise and widens dynamic range to enable headphone listeners to enjoy the full openness of a recording without having to turn the volume of their music players down to an comfortable level. Lowering the volume reduces audio quality (resolution). With the iEMatch2.5 users can up the volume on their DAP to gain back the ‘bits’ lost with digital volume control but still maintain a comfortable listening level.

So, what’s new with the iEMatch2.5®?
Well, it the same principal, with one key difference. Whereas smartphones and computers tend to have unbalanced 3.5mm outputs for headphones as standard, many DAPS and headphones/IEMs at the higher end of the digital hi-fi market offer a 2.5mm balanced output as well as the choice of single-ended and/or balanced 3.5mm output ports. The iEMatch2.5® has a gold-plated 2.5mm connector for music lovers who have invested in those high-quality DAPs and expensively sensitive IEMs and/or headphones.

To build a system around an expensive high-resolution headphone amplifier and then use it at a comfortable (not to mention safe) listening level means you have to turn the volume down to about 60% of its capacity and this will decrease both its dynamic range and audio quality. Basically, it’s like watching HD TV with some of the pixels from the screen missing. You will also have lost around two bits of resolution.
